Sorata Main Plaza   Fred
You are in: Sorata

LAGUNA LOUNGE: belongs to Travis' Andean Epics mountain bike company. So it is a meeting point for the bikers, but is also a nice place to sit and chat. Probably best offer in drinks; like Mojito, Caipis, and cerveza of course.
CASA REGGAE offers drinks, sometimes there is a fire going in the yard, but it is also a cheap possibility to stay (dormitories). Mostly you can find a bunch of artisans staying there.
On the plaza there is
BLACK SPIDER, but some of the restaurants and hotels offer drinks as well.
There is no cinema, but
RESIDENCIAL SORATA shows movies in the evenings, but mostly only for their guests.

Besides walking and trekking there are several different offers in activities, like horse riding, mountain biking, bouldering, spinning and weaving classes, etc.
Ask for
HORSE RIDING at Casa Reggae (final Calle Munecas, just below Hostal Mirador).

Opposite Casa Reggae there is Laguna Lounge, where you can get further information about MOUNTAIN BIKING.

You find the BOULDERING area going down to the river, where all the rivers come together on the footpath to San Pedro. There are some nice pools as well for enjoying a refreshing swim in the river.

For SPINNING and WEAVING classes ask for Nativa at Hostal Las Piedras at the soccer field on the shortcut to the San Pedro cave.

 ...to visit Sorata
1) 22km leisurely walk to the San Pedro cave
2) Set off from here to climb Illampu (6368m)
3) The sacred Lake Chilata, unexplored by foreigners before 1995
